2025 FEATURED PROJECT
The CWA-SDC Citizen Scientist Group is taking direct action to keep this rare wetland on the radar, engaging in conversations to move restoration plans forward. After spending hundreds of hours volunteering in the field, gathering historical documents, collecting data, interviewing many residents and agency employees, our working group has prepared a summary video to highlight the need for active treatments to prevent this remarkable resource from going dry.

After a successful fund raiser, CWA hired restoration expert Tom Biebighouser to assess the Cienega’s needs, develop a phased restoration plan, and provide organizational training.
BLM GOVERNANCE:
The Resource Management Plan (RMP) is the comprehensive guiding document for all management activities within the SPRNCA for the next 15 to 20 years. The Record of Decision was approved and signed on July 30, 2019.
